Panathinaikos defeats AEK 2-0 in Super League derby
Panathinaikos secured a 2-0 victory against AEK in the 9th round of the Super League derby held at OAKA. The match saw Panathinaikos return to the top of the league standings. Andreas Tetey scored in the 1st minute following a mistake by Lazaros Rota, and Andino added a second goal in the 49th minute.
Despite being reduced to ten players following a red card for Koita, Panathinaikos maintained control of the game. AEK, which had been on a 12-match unbeaten run in domestic competition, struggled to find opportunities against the Panathinaikos defense.
For AEK, coach Marko Nikolic prepared a 4-4-2 formation, looking to reintegrate players like Moukoundi, Koita, and Vitalis following a recent cup loss to PAOK. The match was expected to draw a significant crowd, with estimates suggesting up to 40,000 spectators at the stadium.
