Paola “La Mufasa” gets 4‑year 11‑month sentence for fatal Querétaro crash

Paola Alejandra “N”, known as “La Mufasa”, was sentenced to four years and eleven months in prison for culpable homicide arising from the July 2025 collision on the Calzada de Los Arcos in Querétaro. The court applied a shortened (abbreviated) procedure after she formally accepted responsibility. The sentence includes a fine and the obligation to make full reparations to the victims’ families; the prison term can be commuted once the reparations and fine are paid in full. The accident, which involved a vehicle traveling at excessive speed under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, caused two deaths and serious injuries to a third victim. Judicial authorities approved reparatory agreements with the families, leading to the partial dismissal of the related injury charge and the termination of the criminal process for those victims.

The ruling reflects the application of Mexico’s legal mechanisms for restorative justice, allowing the offender to avoid a full trial when accountability and compensation are secured.
