Paola opposition forms united front against Mayor Perrotta

Political opposition forces in Paola are forming a united front to challenge the administration of Mayor Roberto Perrotta. During a public meeting in Piazza del Popolo, representatives from Paola Civica e Progressista, Libera Scelta, and Insieme per Paola presented a collaborative project aimed at building a common political perspective for the city.

The opposition has raised several specific grievances regarding local governance. These include allegations of unauthorized public works, such as a bus bay on via della Libertà that reportedly lacks necessary permits, and a road in Rione Croce allegedly constructed without a project or proper authorization. Additionally, the group has questioned municipal spending, citing potential double payments to contractors and concerns regarding direct appointments and assignments.

Mayor Perrotta responded to the opposition's movements via WhatsApp, accusing the leaders of betraying past alliances to pursue personal ambitions. In response, Tonino Cassano, leader of Libera Scelta, criticized the Mayor's use of social media for political replies rather than formal statements, while maintaining that the opposition's focus remains on addressing critical administrative issues.
