Italian television presenter Paola Perego has shared her experience battling malignant papillary renal cell carcinoma to raise awareness about the importance of medical prevention.
During an appearance on the program ‘La volta buona’, Perego revealed that her cancer was discovered in early 2024 following a routine abdominal ultrasound. She described the diagnosis as a significant shock, noting that she had previously felt immune to such illnesses.
The tumor was found to be operable, and doctors successfully removed a portion of her kidney. Perego, who continues to undergo oncological follow-up every six months, emphasized that her early detection was only possible due to regular check-ups.
