Paola Rojas reports threats after inclusion in journalist list

Journalist Paola Rojas has reported receiving numerous insults and threats against her and her family following her inclusion in a list of journalists presented by Luisa María Alcalde, a legal advisor for the Mexican Presidency. Rojas, a presenter for Imagen TV, stated that the targeting of journalists in such a manner resembles practices used by authoritarian or fascist regimes.

Other prominent Mexican journalists, including Carmen Aristegui and Joaquín López Dóriga, have also expressed repudiation regarding the list. Rojas emphasized that Mexico is currently experiencing extreme violence against the press and warned that exposing journalists can lead to severe consequences, noting that official denials of a “black list” have not stopped the harassment campaigns.
