Paola schools launch anti-mafia educational program

High schools in Paola and throughout the province of Cosenza are launching a new educational initiative focused on legality and civic responsibility. The program, promoted by provincial councilor Graziano Di Natale as part of a ‘Percorso di Legalità’ (Path of Legality), aims to move beyond traditional commemorative rituals to foster direct dialogue with younger generations.

A central component of the initiative is the distribution of the comic book ‘Capaci – Le idee non si fermano’ (Capaci – The ideas do not stop). The graphic novel addresses the 1992 mafia massacre that claimed the lives of Judge Giovanni Falcone, Francesca Morvillo, and security agents Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo, and Antonio Montinaro. The use of a visual medium is intended to make complex historical events and the values of those who fought the mafia more accessible and engaging for students.
