Paolo Aita, renowned hunting dog expert, passes away in Tolmezzo

Paolo Aita, an 82-year-old prominent figure in the hunting dog community of Tolmezzo, has passed away following a sudden illness on the night of August 24. Aita was highly regarded in the field of cynology, having won three world titles in Sant’Uberto competitions.

Known for his sharp wit and irony, Aita personally prepared his own obituary and requested a specific message be inscribed on his headstone: “Cari amici e parenti, sono finalmente deceduto anch’io” (“Dear friends and relatives, I have finally passed away too”).

In his final wishes, he requested that instead of traditional mourning, his friends and family gather at a bar following the funeral to spend an hour sharing the most hilarious episodes of their lives together.
