Paolo Belli announces return to work following fatal bicycle accident
Italian musician and presenter Paolo Belli has announced his return to professional activities via social media after a months-long hiatus. The singer had suspended all artistic and professional engagements following a tragic incident on July 13, 2026, in the Bassa Reggiana countryside.
During the incident, Belli, who was riding a bicycle, struck 41-year-old pedestrian Alessandro Magnani. Magnani passed away the following day after being treated at the Maggiore Hospital in Parma. Belli is currently under investigation for road homicide, a standard procedure in such cases.
In a video posted to Instagram and X, Belli expressed that his decision to remain silent and pause his career was made out of respect for the victim's family. He stated that while he is returning to work, he will do so with a different state of mind, noting, “without forgetting anything, even when you see me smile and sing.”
Belli is scheduled to resume his career with a new theatrical show titled “Come se non ci fosse un domani.” The tour is set to debut on December 6, 2026, in his hometown of Formigine, followed by a performance in Collegno on January 15, 2027. He also plans to perform with his Big Band across Italy starting in December.
