Paolo Canaparo begins tenure as Perugia Prefect

Paolo Canaparo has officially assumed his role as the new Prefect of Perugia, initiating meetings with regional and provincial leaders to discuss local priorities. In discussions with Umbria Region President Stefania Proietti and Provincial President Massimiliano Presciutti, the agenda focused on security, legality, infrastructure, and the development of internal areas.

Key security initiatives mentioned include strengthening video surveillance, implementing neighborhood watch programs, and increasing coordination between police forces and municipal officers. Canaparo also highlighted the importance of protecting healthcare workers from aggression in hospitals and managing large-scale regional events.

Canaparo, who previously worked in the Perugia Prefecture between 2004 and 2006, emphasized the institution's role as a facilitator for territorial processes and a link between local communities and government bodies.
