Paolo Conte receives Pascoli Lifetime Achievement Award

Italian singer-songwriter Paolo Conte has been awarded the Pascoli Lifetime Achievement Award (Premio Pascoli alla Carriera) as part of the 21st edition of the Pascoli Prize in Language and Dialect, promoted by Sammauroindustria.

In a video interview conducted at his residence in Asti with Miro Gori, Conte expressed his deep admiration for the poet Giovanni Pascoli, calling him his favorite Italian poet. He noted that Pascoli’s work, specifically ‘Cavalla storna’ from the Myricae collection, continues to move him deeply due to its powerful poetic construction.

The award ceremony took place on September 12 at the Casa Pascoli garden in San Mauro Pascoli. During the event, Conte also identified his literary influences, citing Dino Campana, Camillo Sbarbaro, and the 1963 Nobel laureate Giorgos Seferis.
