Paolo Davide Manina releases novel “Il Portico degli Impiccati”

Italian author Paolo Davide Manina has published the novel “Il Portico degli Impiccati”. Set in the quiet hills of Monferrato, the story follows Nico, the new owner of an isolated house where two murders by hanging occurred fifty years apart. As he uncovers newspaper clippings and fragmented memories, the narrative intertwines the lingering darkness of past crimes with present anxieties, creating a suspenseful atmosphere where the line between history and the present blurs.

Manina, a banker‑turned‑writer born in 1963, previously won the International “Sforzesco” Literary Prize in 2022 and was featured in several art biennales. The new work continues his focus on the interplay of landscape and haunting memories.
