Paolo De Paola criticizes player performance and accountability

Journalist Paolo De Paola has raised concerns regarding player performance and accountability in Italian football. Commenting on a recent match involving Crotone, De Paola described the performance as “disconcerting to the limits of the worst suspicion.”

He emphasized the responsibility players hold toward their supporters, noting a perceived pact between athletes and fans. De Paola also suggested that inconsistent performances can lead to suspicions regarding external influences, specifically mentioning how a team's response might vary depending on the level of involvement or pressure from ownership.
