Paolo Del Genio analyzes Napoli's performance and league standing

Journalist Paolo Del Genio has provided analysis regarding Napoli's recent 3-3 draw against Roma, distinguishing between the team's tactical performance and their precarious position in the league standings.

Regarding tactics, Del Genio praised Napoli's offensive approach under Massimiliano Allegri. He argued that modern football relies heavily on duels and transitions, suggesting that teams must employ high pressing to avoid losing duels close to their own goal. He noted that while the attacking attitude was positive, the team must continue to utilize its technical qualities even when holding a lead.

However, Del Genio described the current league table as “dramatic.” He warned that the gap between Napoli and the top four teams has widened, noting that a draw at home does little to close the distance. He suggested that an extraordinary winning streak would be required to recover from their current deficit, as competitors like Inter, Lazio, Como, Roma, and Milan continue to maintain high points averages.
