Nova Como protests Como school reorganization plan

The association Nova Como has announced a new mobilization against the proposed school reorganization plan in Como. The group, represented by Teresa Minniti and Vincenzo Falanga, scheduled a protest with whistles for September 28 at Palazzo Cernezzi.

The plan for the 2027-2028 school year aims to reduce the number of comprehensive institutes from eight to five, following a 7.3% decline in student enrollment over the last three years. Nova Como argues that demographic shifts should not serve as an excuse for poor planning.

Key points of contention include the proposed closure of the Luigi Carluccio nursery school, which had previously remained open following family appeals, and the reorganization of the Corridoni school. The association criticized the administration for a cycle of closing and reopening facilities without sufficient investment.
