Paolo Giorgi case: Defense challenges 1991 photographic identification

Defense attorney Antonio Russo has filed a new legal memorandum regarding the Paolo Giorgi case in Locri, raising questions about a 1991 photographic identification. The defense is seeking clarification on potential discrepancies in the evidence used to secure Giorgi's conviction.

The request focuses on a Polaroid photograph used during the identification process. Russo points to inconsistencies in official reports, noting that while some documents refer to a photograph labeled number 2, others mention a photograph numbered 4, which resulted in a negative identification.

The defense is calling on the Prosecutor's Office to acquire the original photographic files from November 30, 1991, to determine if there was a numbering error or a lack of coordination between the various judicial police commands. The goal is to locate the original specific photograph used in the identification process.
