Paolo Insom and Nicolas Seravalle win Trofeo di Mezza Estate 2026

Paolo Insom and Nicolas Seravalle have secured their second consecutive victory at the 2026 Trofeo di Mezza Estate. The Star Class sailing competition, organized by Società Velica Viareggina under the auspices of the Federazione Italiana Vela, took place in the waters of Viareggio.

The event consisted of two races held in calm seas with winds between 8 and 9 knots. In the first race, Olympic Flying Dutchman sailor Paolo Nazzaro and Finn sailor Gianluca Dati on ‘Dafne’ took first place, followed by Graziano Bonanno and Giovanni Giorguli, and Marco Viti and Davide Bortoletto.

Insom and Seravalle responded in the second race by winning the heat on ‘Darling’. This performance, combined with a fourth-place finish in the opening race, allowed them to finish at the top of the final standings with 5 points. They finished in a tie for points with the crews of Marco Viti/Davide Bortoletto and Graziano Bonanno/Giovanni Giorguli. Nazzaro and Dati finished just off the podium with 6 points.
