Paolo Simoncelli reflects on Marco Simoncelli's legacy and Valentino Rossi

Paolo Simoncelli, father of the late MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli, has shared reflections on his son's legacy and his ongoing connection to the racing world nearly 15 years after Marco's fatal accident in Sepang, Malaysia.

Paolo explained that despite the immense pain of the loss, he chose to remain in motorcycle racing by founding the SIC58 Squadra Corse team. He stated that he and his wife have no regrets, as they ensured Marco was able to pursue his passion for racing, which made him happy before his death in 2011.

Paolo also discussed the close relationship between Marco and Valentino Rossi. He noted that the two shared a genuine friendship and that Rossi, who was deeply affected by the tragedy, still maintains contact with the family. Paolo revealed that Rossi has shared that he occasionally dreams about Marco, a sentiment that Paolo also experiences.
