Papa Khassoum Touré named Sports Director of the FIE
Papa Khassoum Touré has been appointed as the Sports Director of the International Fencing Federation (FIE). The announcement followed an Executive Committee meeting in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Touré, a Senegalese national, brings extensive experience in international refereeing and coaching. He has served as an international sabre referee at various Olympic Games and World Championships and has worked as a coach in both Senegal and Kuwait, where he has been the head coach of the national fencing team since 2021.
This appointment occurs as Senegal prepares to host the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, the first time the event will be held on the African continent.
