Papar official urges Malaysian youth to embrace patriotism

Datuk Pengiran Saifuddin Pengiran Tahir Petra, the State Assemblyman for Pantai Manis, emphasized the importance of fostering patriotism, unity, and national love among the younger generation to prepare them as future leaders of Malaysia.

Speaking at the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) program in the Papar district at SMAN Islamiah Papar, Saifuddin noted that while today's youth did not experience the physical struggle for independence, the spirit of freedom must be preserved and lived. He highlighted that patriotism is demonstrated not only through flying the national flag but also by maintaining peace, respecting laws, and preserving social harmony.

The event, attended by approximately 500 students, was supported by the Information Department of Sabah to instill nationalistic values within schools and local communities.
