Papardo Hospital lacks health director, prompting parliamentary inquiry

Antonio De Luca, the leader of the Five Star Movement group at the Sicilian Regional Assembly, has filed a parliamentary inquiry regarding the continued vacancy of the health director position at Papardo Hospital in Messina.

Following a meeting of the Health Commission on June 29, General Director Catena Di Blasi had committed to making the appointment within ten days. However, more than a month and a half has passed without a director being named. De Luca emphasized that a first-level emergency department cannot function effectively for such an extended period without this essential leadership role.

The inquiry seeks to clarify the reasons for the delay despite previous commitments. De Luca has also called upon Health Assessor Marcello Caruso to take necessary measures to resolve the shortage and ensure the hospital's operational stability.
