Papardo Hospital revokes decision to suppress microbiology unit

The Papardo Hospital in Messina has officially revoked a previous decision to suppress its Microbiology and Virology unit. The reversal follows parliamentary intervention led by Matteo Sciotto, who raised concerns regarding the unit, which serves as the only 24-hour microbiology facility in the province.

The Regional Health Department supported the reversal by issuing directives to block unauthorized changes to hospital acts. Following these administrative actions, the previous decision to dissolve the unit has been nullified, ensuring the continued operation of the specialized department.
