Papenburg to host Long Night of Churches concert event

The churches of Papenburg are hosting the third ‘Lange Nacht der Kirchen’ (Long Night of Churches) on Friday, September 11, 2026. The event is a collaborative effort between the Marktkirche, Nikolaikirche, and St. Antonius congregations, in cooperation with Papenburg Kultur.

Starting at 18:30 at the St. Antonius churchyard, the program features a diverse series of 40-minute concerts held every hour on the hour across the three locations. The musical lineup includes piano, organ, chamber music with Caribbean influences, choral music, and jazz vocals. Performers include Milena Bergemann, the Essener Gitarrenduo, various students from the Emsland music school, and several soloists and ensembles such as the Nikolaikirche trombone choir. The evening will conclude at 22:00 at the Marktkirche.
