Paper Tiger trailer released for James Gray crime thriller
Director James Gray has released the official trailer for his new crime thriller, ‘Paper Tiger,’ starring Adam Driver, Miles Teller, and Scarlett Johansson. Set in 1986 Queens and Brooklyn, New York, the film follows two brothers, Gary and Irwin Pearl, who become entangled in a dangerous business scheme involving the Russian mafia while pursuing the American dream.
The project has personal roots for Gray, who noted the story is inspired by his own family experiences. The film is scheduled to make its North American premiere at the 64th New York Film Festival on September 25, 2026, with select screenings presented in 35mm.
Following its festival run, NEON plans a limited theatrical release on November 13, 2026, expanding to a wide release on November 20. In other markets, such as Brazil, the film is slated for a January 2027 release.
