Papierfresserchens MTM-Verlag seeks stories for new Bavaria and Franconia anthology

Papierfresserchens MTM-Verlag is seeking literary contributions for a new anthology titled ‘Heimat erleben, Geschichten erzählen – Bayern und Franken’ (Experience Home, Tell Stories – Bavaria and Franconia), scheduled for release in 2026.

The project aims to move beyond regional clichés and postcard motifs to create a literary mosaic of life in Bavaria and Franconia. The publisher is looking for stories that capture the diversity of the region, including personal, historical, and literary perspectives that may be familiar, contradictory, mysterious, or uncomfortable.

Submissions are encouraged to focus on specific, meaningful snapshots of regional life, such as multi-generational homes in Nuremberg, family farms, or significant encounters in local landscapes, rather than attempting to provide a generalized or stereotypical depiction of the area.
