Pappu Yadav attackers receive grand welcome in Bulandshahr village

On August 8, 2026, two men identified as Happy Sharma and Sumit Giri, accused of throwing a shoe at independent MP Pappu Yadav during a press conference, were given a public reception in the village of Naithala Hasanpur, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

The reception featured flower garlands, drums, a DJ and a road‑show in an open jeep that travelled from Bulandshahr to the village. Local residents gathered, and the men shouted "Jai Shri Ram" as they arrived.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav posted on X, accusing the BJP of protecting criminals and saying the party continues a tradition of honoring offenders. Police had previously arrested the two under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the National Security Act.
