Pappu Yadav fasts in support of BPSC exam cancellation demands
Pappu Yadav, the Member of Parliament from Purnia, Bihar, undertook a one-day fast on Sunday to support candidates protesting for the cancellation of the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination.
Protesters have raised several grievances, including allegations of paper leaks, mass editing, and issues with on-screen marking. Yadav called for the formation of an independent committee to investigate the evaluation process and ranking transparency, noting that candidates appearing in Hindi medium have not received adequate importance.
In addition to the BPSC exam, the movement seeks resolutions regarding TRE-3, TRE-4, BSSC, and Daroga recruitment. Key demands include the implementation of a domicile policy, adjustments to age limits, and investigations into alleged irregularities in assistant professor appointments and research fellowships. Yadav warned that if the government does not address these issues, the protests may escalate to a state-wide shutdown or indefinite hunger strikes.
