Paprec clinches first 52 Super Series victory at Lanzarote

French team Paprec, owned by Jean‑Luc Petithuguenin and steered by Loïck Peyron with newcomer navigator Yoann Richomme, secured its inaugural win in the 52 Super Series during the Marina Rubicón Lanzarote Sailing Week. After two days of strong breezes and a weather‑forced cancellation on day three, the fleet returned on the final day with winds of 16‑24 knots. Paprec stayed at the front while rival team Sled received a penalty that dropped them from the lead, leaving Paprec first, Italy’s Alkedo Vitamina second, and Sled third in the overall standings.

Petithuguenin remarked, “I have been waiting 17 years to win at the end of a TP52 regatta and I am so happy.” Richomme added he navigated “with the compass, the old‑school way.” The win marks a milestone for the French outfit after years of near‑misses on the international TP52 circuit.
