Paprec team secures first 52 Super Series victory at Lanzarote

The French sailing team Paprec, skippered by Jean‑Luc Petithuguenin, won the Marina Rubicón Lanzarote 52 Super Series Sailing Week, the third event of the 2026 season, marking the team's first ever victory on the TP52 circuit. The win was clinched after a decisive final race in which rival Italian team Alkedo Vitamina was recalled for a false start and Japanese team Sled received a penalty, allowing Paprec to finish ahead by two points.

Petithuguenin, who has been involved with the TP52 class for 17 years, credited the success to long‑term crew stability and recent additions: Loïck Peyron as tactician since 2024 and Vendée Globe runner‑up Yoann Richomme as navigator for the first time. The triumph moved Paprec up to fourth place in the overall series standings with 157 points.

The regatta took place on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, Spain, from July 21‑25, 2026, and featured 13 competing teams from across Europe and beyond.
