Paprec to acquire Marius Pedersen operations in Czech Republic and Slovakia

The French waste management group Paprec has signed an agreement to acquire the Czech and Slovak operations of the Danish company Marius Pedersen. The deal involves 49 subsidiaries and joint ventures employing approximately 4,500 people.

In Slovakia, Marius Pedersen operates through 15 subsidiaries, serving nearly 500 municipalities and 7,500 industrial customers with an annual turnover of nearly 100 million euros. Across both countries, the group processes nearly three million tons of waste annually, providing services such as collection, recycling, and composting to over 2,000 municipalities.

Mathieu Petithuguenin, Chairman and CEO of Paprec, stated that the company intends to support long-term growth through new investments and the sharing of industrial and technological expertise. The acquisition process was highly competitive, with Paprec ultimately outperforming several local investment groups. KPMG served as the exclusive financial advisor to the seller.
