Papua New Guinea's NBC Secures Broadcast Rights for Sheilla Yama Title Fight

The National Broadcasting Corporation of Papua New Guinea (NBC) has obtained exclusive rights to air boxer Sheilla Yama's IBF International Super Lightweight Title defense. The bout will take place in Auckland, New Zealand, on 8 August 2026, with Yama facing challenger Jessica Messina.

Yama, a PNG native who fights out of Hamilton, New Zealand, entered the fight as the unbeaten holder of the IBF International Super Lightweight Title, having claimed the belt in May 2026 after stopping Chinese contender Haini Mulataiaili. NBC will broadcast the event live on its NBC 1 TV channel and NBC Radio, beginning after the 5 p.m. news and running until about 10 p.m. local time. The broadcast is sponsored by Lightspeed Papua New Guinea.
