Papua Police seize 10 kg of drugs near border

Papua Police intercepted an attempt to smuggle 10 kilograms of marijuana near the Holtekamp area of Jayapura City. During an inspection, officers discovered the drugs abandoned in rice sacks near an unfinished wooden hut used as a suspected transit point.

The smugglers reportedly used illegal pathways along the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border and fled into the forest when approached by authorities. The raid was part of ‘Operation Drug Den’, a law enforcement initiative running until November 9 aimed at uncovering drug smuggling, trade, and abuse in the region.
