Papua youth coalition calls for focus on future development

The Koalisi Mahasiswa dan Pemuda Papua Peduli Rakyat (KMP3R) held a peaceful demonstration in the Abepura Circle area of Jayapura to commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day. Under the theme ‘Papua Speaks of the Future, Not Past Conflicts,’ the group sought to shift public discourse toward strategic development rather than historical grievances.

During the event, organizers highlighted several critical issues facing the region, including the need for equitable development, improved education quality, accessible healthcare, and economic empowerment for indigenous Papuans. The coalition also called for the protection of civilians and an end to violence in Papua.
