Pará Civil Police incinerate over 200 kg of drugs in Santarém
The Civil Police of Pará conducted the incineration of over 200 kilograms of drugs in Santarém, located in western Pará. The destroyed narcotics were the result of various inspections and anti-trafficking operations throughout the region.
A significant portion of the seized material was intercepted during routine approaches and integrated operations at the Candiru Floating Base, situated on the Amazon River in the municipality of Óbidos. This facility is strategically used to monitor and neutralize drug trafficking routes that utilize the fluvial pathways of the Lower Amazon.
The destruction process was monitored by the director of the 16th Urban Sectional of the Civil Police of Santarém, Delegate Jair Castro, alongside criminal experts, sanitary surveillance agents, and other authorities. Officials stated that this action represents the first phase of drug destruction in the region and aims to cause financial damage to criminal factions using the river as a trafficking route.
