Pará Court of Accounts Hosts Second Forum on Racial and Gender Equity
The Tribunal de Contas do Estado do Pará (TCE‑PA) organized the II Jornada de Boas Práticas de Equidade Racial on 26 August in Belém’s Escola Judicial. Titled “Raça, Gênero e Justiça Social: caminhos para o enfrentamento das desigualdades estruturais,” the closed event convened signatory institutions of the Interinstitutional Pact for Racial Equity, specialists and social‑movement representatives to exchange practices and expand the pact’s network, which now includes 61 partner bodies.
Key sessions featured a keynote by Vera Lúcia Santana Araújo, substitute minister of the Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, and a closing lecture by philosopher and activist Djamila Ribeiro. Topics covered ranged from female empowerment and gender‑based violence to inclusion of quilombola women, legislative adjustments and diversity‑valuing actions. New signatories were added to the pact, reinforcing institutional cooperation against structural racism and inequality in the state.
