Pará receives 37 new vehicles for medical transport

The Brazilian Federal Government, through the Ministry of Health, and the Government of Pará have delivered 37 new vehicles to strengthen health structures across 35 municipalities in Pará. The delivery includes 20 Basic Support ambulances for the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and 17 minibuses intended for transporting patients to specialized consultations, exams, and treatments outside their home municipalities.

This initiative is part of the ‘Agora Tem Especialistas – Caminhos da Saúde’ program. The expansion is expected to benefit approximately 3.9 million people by increasing emergency care capacity and facilitating access to specialized services within the Unified Health System (SUS). The Samu ambulances will be integrated into the fleets of various cities, including Belém, Ananindeua, Marabá, and Parauapebas.
