Pará reinforces Military Firefighters Corps with 692 new soldiers

The Military Firefighters Corps of Pará (CBMPA) has added 692 new soldiers following the completion of the Enlisted Training Course (CFP). A graduation ceremony was held at the Arena Guilherme Paraense in Belém, where 380 graduates from the Belém hub were honored. The remaining graduates completed their training in various municipalities across the state.

These new personnel were selected through a 2023 public contest organized by the Government of Pará. They will be responsible for rescue operations, firefighting, civil defense, and emergency response. This group represents the second of three planned classes from the 2023 recruitment cycle; the first class of 455 soldiers graduated in January.

Including the first group, Pará has seen 1,147 new military firefighters trained in 2026, 280 of whom are women. The new soldiers are distributed across several regions, including Belém (380), Santarém and Altamira (143), Castanhal (82), Abaetetuba (44), and Marabá (43). Colonel Jayme de Aviz Benjó, commander-general of the CBMPA, stated that this reinforcement will expand the corporation's presence across the state's 144 municipalities.
