Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 concludes with Selangor as overall champions

The Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 games have concluded, with Selangor emerging as the overall champion. Notable individual performances included swimmer Muhammad Safwan Suhaimi, who was named Best Male Para Athlete after winning six gold medals and setting two national records, and track and field athlete Noshazwani Maisara Marzuki, named Best Female Para Athlete for her two gold medals and record-breaking shot put performance.

State contingents reported varying results. Sabah secured second place overall, surpassing its target with 69 gold medals out of 165 total medals. Sarawak’s para badminton team exceeded expectations by winning three gold medals, while the state as a whole finished third with 52 gold medals. In response to these results, the Sarawak government is reviewing incentive structures for medal winners based on previous years' models.

Looking forward, Pahang officials announced plans to intensify Talent Identification (TID) programs to develop more young para athletes. Meanwhile, the Pulau Pinang contingent finished ninth in the overall standings with 37 medals.
