Paraíba Court orders state decree to release sports shooting funds

The Special Body of the Paraíba Court of Justice (TJPB) has ordered the State Government to issue a decree within 30 days to enable the execution of federal parliamentary amendments. The decision follows a writ of mandamus filed by the Paraíba Practical Shooting Federation (FPBTP).

The funds in question are two individual federal parliamentary amendments authored by Deputy Cabo Gilberto Silva, which were transferred by the Union to the State of Paraíba in October 2025. The federation argued that the resources, provided via special transfer, could not be utilized due to the lack of a necessary state decree for budgetary reprogramming.

The ruling was reached by a majority vote, following a shift in the original rapporteur's position. The court's decision aims to facilitate the use of these funds specifically for the promotion of sports shooting.
