Paraíba launches HPV vaccination campaign ‘Setembro em Flor’

The ‘Setembro em Flor’ campaign is currently underway in Paraíba, Brazil, focusing on the prevention of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) through widespread vaccination efforts. In João Pessoa, a ‘Dia D’ mobilization utilized mobile vaccination points at locations including shopping malls, supermarkets, and home centers to increase accessibility.

The campaign specifically targets children and adolescents aged 9 to 14 for single-dose vaccination, while also providing opportunities for those aged 15 to 19 to update their immunization status. Health officials have emphasized that the initiative includes a focus on males to ensure comprehensive community immunity and prevent associated cancers.

In addition to João Pessoa, vaccination activities are also being conducted in Campina Grande. Residents who missed the mobile action can access vaccines at fixed health units, such as Family Health Units (USFs) and polyclinics, throughout the week.
