Paraíba hosts communication forum plenary and PDT convention ahead of 2026 elections

The state committee of the Fórum Nacional pela Democratização da Comunicação (FNDC) in Paraíba, together with the Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT), held a plenary on 30 July at the SINTECT‑PB headquarters in João Pessoa. The meeting brought together public communication representatives to discuss the role of public media in combating disinformation during the 2026 elections and elected a delegation to attend the FNDC national plenary on 1 August in São Paulo.

The Partido Democrático Trabalhista of Paraíba (PDT‑PB) scheduled its state convention for 4 August at the Associação de Plantadores de Cana da Paraíba in João Pessoa. Party leaders will select candidates for governor, vice‑governor, senator, and other offices for the 2026 election and decide on major coalition arrangements. The event also highlighted the party’s push for greater female participation, noting that vice‑president Denise Ribeiro and former deputy Rafaela Camara have joined the PDT’s national directory and are being considered for top‑ticket positions.
