Paraíba leaders advance municipal policy and health proposals
In Paraíba, local leaders are advancing both health and municipal policy initiatives. Councilman Plínio Gomes has proposed the creation of a Fibromyalgia Reference Center in Campina Grande. The center would provide multidisciplinary care, integrating specialists in rheumatology, physiotherapy, psychology, nutrition, and social work to improve diagnosis and quality of life for patients.
Simultaneously, the Federation of Associations of Municipalities of Paraíba (Famup) is participating in a municipalist mobilization in Brasília alongside mayors from the state. Organized by the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM), the movement seeks to strengthen municipal interests within the National Congress. Key objectives include the approval of PEC 253/2016, which would allow the CNM to represent municipal interests in the Supreme Federal Court, and PEC 231, which proposes a 1% revenue increase for municipalities to balance public accounts.
