João Pessoa implements new judicial and cultural initiatives
In João Pessoa, Mayor Leo Bezerra has initiated several administrative and cultural programs. A technical cooperation agreement was signed with the Tribunal de Justiça da Paraíba (TJPB) to promote the consensual resolution of conflicts involving the municipal administration, aiming to reduce judicialization through pre-procedural administrative settlements.
Cultural and urban initiatives include the revitalization of Largo de Nossa Senhora da Penha to support tourism and religious traditions, and the establishment of the Feira de Artistas Pretas e Pretos in the Historic Center. This weekly fair, managed by Funjope, focuses on generating income for Black and Indigenous women through creative economy and traditional crafts.
On a political level, Governor Lucas Ribeiro expressed his commitment to working institutionally with Mayor Bezerra, stating that state support for João Pessoa will continue regardless of electoral differences. Meanwhile, in Juara, Mato Grosso, judicial and security forces met to coordinate strategies regarding public safety, corruption, and child protection.
