Paraíba Movement Appeals Reinstated R$30 Zona Azul Digital Fee in João Pessoa

The Tribunal de Justiça da Paraíba (TJPB) has authorized the return of the Tarifa de Pós‑Utilização (TPU), a R$30 charge applied to users of the digital Zona Azul parking system in João Pessoa. The Movimento Contra a Indústria das Multas announced it will file an appeal against the decision, arguing that the fee unfairly penalises drivers.

The appeal was disclosed during the MDB convention in João Pessoa, where political figures also highlighted other campaign issues, including support for President Lula’s re‑election and upcoming Senate candidacies. The movement’s legal challenge adds to the broader debate over traffic‑related charges in the state.
