Paraíba officials strengthen security cooperation against organized crime
The Ministry of Public Prosecutor's Office of Paraíba and the 3rd Military Police Battalion met in Patos to reinforce joint actions against criminal groups in the Sertão region. Prosecutor‑General Leonardo Quintans Coutinho highlighted existing cooperation agreements with the Civil Police and the Military Police, emphasizing the need for integrated operations, legal oversight and continuous training of officers.
Governor Lucas Ribeiro also conducted a series of visits on the same day, touring the newly‑opened DRACO headquarters in João Pessoa, the state‑run Hospital Geral Clipsi in Campina Grande, and the Fetech technology fair. His agenda underscored the administration’s focus on organized‑crime suppression, public‑health support and innovation in the state.
Both events illustrate a coordinated effort by Paraíba’s executive and judicial authorities to curb the expansion of organized crime into interior municipalities and to improve public safety infrastructure.
