On Tuesday, 2 May, the municipal authorities of João Pessoa intensified a city‑wide maintenance program. The Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) deployed crews to 34 neighborhoods for pothole repairs, drainage cleaning and public‑lighting upkeep, tackling streets such as Jardim Cidade Universitária, Cabo Branco, Mangabeira and Rangel. Simultaneously, the Special Municipal Urban Cleaning Agency (Emlur) carried out capination, mowing, curb painting and sweeping in districts including Cabo Branco, Valentina, Mangabeira and Parque Parahyba II. The Development Urban Secretariat (Sedurb) completed 94 maintenance actions in markets, cemeteries, popular malls and the Cecaf center, addressing electrical, hydraulic, roofing and façade repairs. Officials highlighted the coordinated effort to improve road safety, flood‑prevention infrastructure and the overall cleanliness of public spaces, urging residents to dispose of waste correctly and use the “João Pessoa na Palma da Mão” app for service requests.
