Paraíba police officers denounced in drug diversion scheme

The Public Ministry of Paraíba (MP-PB) has denounced three civil police officers and four members of a criminal faction for their alleged involvement in a scheme to divert and adulterate drugs. The prosecution, presented to the 3rd Criminal Court of the Capital, alleges that the officers used state resources, including official vehicles and weapons, to locate drug depots belonging to rival factions.

According to the investigation, the diverted narcotics were handed over to members of the Nova Okaida faction, who allegedly adulterated the substances to increase their volume and profit margins. Among those denounced are Delegate Braz Morroni and investigators Everton Aires and Eduardo Jorge do Egito. The group faces charges related to drug trafficking and association for trafficking.
