Inmet issues low humidity alerts for Pernambuco and Paraíba
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has issued yellow alerts for low air humidity across several regions in Northeast Brazil.
In the Sertão of Pernambuco, the alert affects 53 cities, including Afogados da Ingazeira, Araripina, and Petrolina. Humidity levels are expected to fluctuate between 20% and 30%, posing a low risk for forest fires and health issues.
In the Sertão of Paraíba, the alert covers 64 municipalities, such as Sousa, Cajazeiras, and Pombal. Humidity levels in this region are projected to range between 20% and 30%.
Inmet recommends that residents increase water intake, avoid intense physical activity during the hottest hours of the day, and reduce direct sun exposure.
