Paraíba football enters 2026 season with Second Division start and Série C matches
Football activity in Paraíba is intensifying with the start of the 2026 Campeonato Paraibano Second Division. Ten clubs are competing for two promotion spots to the elite division. The tournament features a single-group first phase where the top two teams advance directly to the semifinals, while teams ranked 3rd through 6th enter a playoff phase. Due to regulations, the competition is primarily under-23, allowing only seven players over the age of 23 per squad.
In national competitions, Botafogo-PB faces Floresta in the second round of the Série C quadrangular at the Almeidão stadium. Both teams are seeking recovery after losing their opening matches in this decisive phase of the tournament.
Additionally, Campinense has announced four new signings—Luan Carioca, Bruno Lopes, Lucas Piauí, and Radeche—as they prepare for the Copa Paraíba and the 2027 season. In the city of Monteiro, Rádio Monteiro FM is resuming football broadcasts after a 14-year hiatus, starting with Serrano Socremo’s debut in the Paraibano Second Division.
