Parabita 1554 Clock and Caltagirone Ceramic Book Launch Celebrate Heritage

On 3 August a public meeting in Parabita, Italy, introduced the book *Parabita. Un orologio per dominare il tempo* by Marcello Gaballo and Armando Polito. The volume documents a rare 1554 mechanical public clock commissioned by the feudal lord Pirro Castriota Granai, whose painted dial and dedicatory inscription were uncovered during recent restoration of the town’s church tower. The presentation featured Bishop Fernando Filograna, Mayor Dr. Stefano Prete, and parish priest Don Santino Bove Balestra.

On 2 August, the book *Cultura e società nelle formelle di Caltagirone* by Giuseppe and Beatrice Di Falco was launched at the Museo Enologos near Pedalino, Sicily. The work showcases more than a thousand photographs of traditional ceramic “formelle” used historically for food preparation, illustrating the social and artistic life of eastern Sicily from the 18th to the 20th century.
