Parabita expands Ipogea underground art project
The municipality of Parabita has expanded its Ipogea project, an initiative designed to recover and reinterpret the city's underground heritage through site-specific contemporary art. The project aims to transform caves and underground oil mills into spaces for research and dialogue between history and art.
A new permanent work by artist Rossella Biscotti, titled ‘L’uomo che cammina all’indietro’, was inaugurated on July 23, 2026. The piece utilizes an ancient millstone to reflect on themes of time, memory, and progress. The inauguration was attended by regional culture official Silvia Miglietta and local authorities.
